Happy Mothers Day my friends!
Mothers Day for me is a sweet and also tender day for me. I miss my Mom so very much sometimes it still hurts. She has been gone nearly six years now and I, at times, will still feel like it was just yesterday that she graduated onto her next great adventure. She was the very best mom to, and for me and I hope to honor her in every way I can. How I love her! This very blog is partially because of her amazing cooking. Some of her recipes had been recorded but many where still in her head. I want my kids to be able to find my recipes when I am no longer here.
(I am making assumptions that they want them HAHA!! but I hope they do)
I also love to celebrate motherhood in all its glory. It is a beautiful and wonderful phenomon with all its facets like a sparkling diamond. Those with children and also equally those who have other ways to express their mothering abilities.
There was a time when mothers day made me sad. I would compare myself to all the other moms and their super mom powers. It caused me to feel like I was lacking. I have decided in my old age and in this season of my life that there is no room for this in my bubble. I need to focus on the things I can do and forget about the stuff I dont. We women are all amazing and if allowed can fill each others weaknesses and make a wonderful colorful world together.
I also love to see my sweet daughters being the most amazing moms to their precious babies and interact with their nieces and nephews. I am so grateful that they let me play a supporting role within their motherhood to help them where I am needed and able. I am so excited for the future as I watch the amazing children they are raising.
Motherhood should be celebrated!
We women rock no matter where we fall on the faceted diamond that is womanhood and motherhood.
Here's to you!
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!
